Ametis Cederberg is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor who works with individuals, couples and groups to help nourish interpersonal relations and instill hope for the parts of your story yet to be written. In the context of a nonjudgemental environment, Ametis believes trust and genuineness are the essential foundations in order for healing to occur. She takes a collaborative approach with clients with uncovering systems of their life that no longer serves them while incorporating more effective methods towards meeting their needs and embodying their authentic self. Ametis is especially passionate about working with adults dealing with relationship issues, struggles with personal development and self-acceptance, areas of attachment and managing stress in the midst of phase of life transitions. 

Ametis received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and earned her master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling with a concentration in substance use & psychiatric disorders from The George Washington University. She completed her training dually at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and on-campus university counseling center working with clients struggling with chronic illness, anxiety, phase of life transitions, relationship issues and career development. She has gained experience working at Eating Recovery Center Houston with clients diagnosed with eating disorders, often co-occuring with complex psychiatric disorders, personality disorders, trauma and/or substance abuse.  

Ametis uses an eclectic approach utilizing various treatment modalities She has experience and education with person-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, Ametis believes in a humanistic approach in the journey of healing, by focusing in the present, she believes clients have the answers deep under the many layers of their being. She believes it is there that healing begins, bringing clients closer to their actual and authentic selves. 

In her spare time she enjoys SoulCycle, reading, practicing calligraphy, testing new foods and recipes, traveling and spending quality time with friends & family.
