Emily Netherton, LMSW

Emily Netherton is a licensed master social worker who provides psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, and families. Emily is committed to providing a secure environment in which clients can navigate personal and relational difficulties. She is passionate about helping individuals of all ages who are struggling to cope with various life transitions such as divorce, grief, or adulthood. She also has experience with clients suffering from anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychotic disorders, and addiction.  

Emily draws from a wide range of modalities in order to provide her clients the individualized care that they deserve. She has experience with psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and person-centered therapy. She is currently completing a Fellowship at The Lovett Center which allows for her to continue expanding her clinical training and expertise as a psychotherapist.

Emily is a native Texan who received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee, and recently completed her master’s degree in social work at the University of Houston where she was the 2017 recipient of the Mahatma Gandhi Peace Award. Her previous experience includes working with adults in a local partial hospitalization program, leading addiction-focused therapy groups, and working with at-risk youth in a grief-focused mentorship programs. Emily also provides services for the Center for Integrative Healing in both the adolescent and young adult intensive outpatient programs.
