Emily Netherton, MSW-Intern
Emily Netherton is a Clinical Social Work Intern at The Lovett Center, where she provides reduced fee therapy services. She is a native Texan who completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Tennessee, and is currently completing her Master’s Degree in social work at the University of Houston. She has previous experience working with adults in a local partial hospitalization program, leading addiction-focused therapy groups, and working with at-risk youth in a grief-focused mentorship program.
Emily is committed to providing a secure environment in which clients can navigate personal and relational difficulties. She has a particular interest in treating depression and anxiety disorders in adults through supportive and psychodynamic psychotherapy; however, she also draws from other therapy modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.
