Gayle Klaybor, PHD, LCSW
Dr. Klaybor is a clinical social worker and psychotherapist with 40 years of experience helping individuals, couples and families realize a better quality of life. Since establishing her private practice, she has assisted clients in resolving problems ranging from personal growth and development to problems involving serious mental illness. She is committed to establishing a safe, supportive and affirming environment in which to explore personal issues. She utilizes a broad range of treatment modalities including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic strategies, Family Systems Therapy, Gottman Approach, Client-centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Mindfulness Practice techniques.
Besides her experience in private practice, Dr. Klaybor has extensive experience as a therapist in psychiatric hospitals, women’s shelters, and residential treatment facilities for emotionally disturbed, abused, and chemically addicted adolescents.
She is also an approved supervisor for clinical social workers pursuing their clinical social worker licensure (LCSW). She has been an adjunct faculty member at The University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work, teaching clinical practice skills, theoretical models and interventions, psychopathology and diagnostic assessment. She has often led support and training groups for staff members at various treatment facilities staff including The Center for Success and Independence and Montrose Center. She regularly presents workshops to mental health professionals on ethics and clinical interventions.
